Bike Fit Sydney — Professional Road Bike Fitting
0429 325 880
A bike fit isn’t adjusting your seat height and calling it done. If you’re searching for a bike fit in Sydney that’s done by an experienced road cyclist — not a physio, not a formula — you’re in the right place. It’s a systematic process that aligns your body and your bike so you can ride further, faster, and without pain.
At Brad’s Bikes, we fit road cyclists and triathletes. Every fit is done by Tony or Brad himself — fotry plus years of fitting experience, hundreds of riders fitted, and a simple philosophy: the bike should work around your body, not the other way around. Fits start at $60 and all include a free follow-up session — no other Sydney fitter offers that.
A road bike that doesn’t fit properly doesn’t just slow you down — it eventually stops you riding altogether. Knee pain, lower back ache, numb hands, saddle discomfort: these are fit problems, not bike problems.
Conveniently located in Neutral Bay, 5 minutes from the Harbour Bridge — easy to reach from the CBD, North Sydney, Crows Nest, Mosman, and the Northern Beaches.
Whether you’re training for an Ironman, chasing a PR up Akuna Bay, or just tired of numb hands after two hours in the saddle — a proper fit changes everything.

who should get a road bike fit?
anyone who rides regularly…
Here are the specific signs a fit is overdue:
- Knee pain — front, back, or sides. Almost always a position issue, not a medical one.
Lower back discomfort on rides over an hour — your reach or saddle position is likely off. - Numb hands or hot spots in your feet — your contact points are telling you something.
- Saddle discomfort or chafing — usually a saddle height, tilt, or width issue.
You’ve changed your bike, saddle, or shoes — any component swap shifts your position. - You’ve just bought a new road bike — set it up properly from day one, before bad habits form.
- You’re considering buying a bike — a pre-purchase fit ensures you get the right frame size before you commit.
- You’re returning to cycling after injury or a long break — your body has changed; your position should too.
- You’re training for an event — a fit before a big mileage block prevents problems before they start.
- You’ve never had one — if you bought your bike and just started riding, your position is almost certainly sub-optimal.
- You’re targeting a performance goal — a sportive, a century ride, or racing — and want every watt working efficiently.
We fit road cyclists, triathletes, and gravel riders. First-timer or experienced racer — the process is the same: understand how you move, then make the bike support that.
Why a Bike Fit at Brad’s Bikes?
There are other fitters in Sydney. Here’s why riders choose us:
- Road and triathlon focus. We don’t fit mountain bikes, hybrids, e-bikes, or commuters. Road cycling is what we do and what we know — deeply.
- One fitter, start to finish. We do every fit personally. You’re not handed between staff — one person sees the whole picture, from the pre-fit interview through to the follow-up.
- No upselling. We don’t push new saddles, stems, or shoes unless yours are genuinely wrong for you. If your existing gear works, we tell you straight.
- Real workshop integration. If your fit reveals a mechanical issue — worn cleats, a slipping seatpost, cables limiting bar rotation — we fix it on the spot. We’re a full-service workshop, not just a fit studio
bike fit cost & pricing – sydney
All fits include the follow-up session at no extra charge.
Compared to other Sydney bike fitters (typically $250–$400+), our Road Bike Fit delivers exceptional value — and we’re the only fitter on the North Shore that includes a free follow-up.
A pre-purchase fit determines your ideal frame size, reach, and geometry before you buy — saving you from an expensive mistake. This is especially valuable if you’re considering a significant investment in a carbon road bike. We’re independent, so we’ll give you honest advice rather than steering you toward a particular brand or price point.
The fit/cleat check is for riders who’ve had a fit before and need a quick re-check — new shoes, new cleats, or something feels slightly off.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a bike fit take?
A full road bike fit at Brads Bikes takes around 90 minutes. We don’t rush. You’ll also leave with a summary of the adjustments.
Is a bike fit worth it?
For regular cyclists, yes — almost always. Most riders who book a fit have been experiencing pain that disappears after the session, or are losing power due to poor positioning.
What should I bring to a bike fit?
Bring your road bike, your cycling shoes (with cleats already installed if possible), and your normal cycling kit — bib shorts and jersey. If you have data from a previous fit or a current saddle height measurement, bring that too. Injury history is worth mentioning at the start of the session.
Do you offer a pre-purchase bike fit?
Yes. A pre-purchase fit determines your ideal frame size, reach and geometry before you buy — saving you from a potentially expensive mistake.
This is especially valuable if you’re considering a significant investment in a carbon road bike. We’re independent, so we’ll give you honest advice rather than steering you toward a particular brand or price point.
Do you fit bikes that you do not sell?
Absolutely. The majority of our fitting clients bring bikes purchased elsewhere — online, from other shops, or handed down. We fit all road bikes regardless of brand or where they were bought.
What's the difference between a bike fit and a bike setup?
A ‘setup’ usually means applying a basic formula — saddle height at X% of inseam, bars at roughly this drop. A proper bike fit accounts for your individual anatomy, flexibility, riding style and goals.
Two riders with identical measurements may need quite different positions. That’s why we observe you on the bike rather than just measuring you off it.
How much does a bike fit cost in sydney?
Bike fitting in Sydney typically ranges from $60 to $400+. At Brad’s Bikes, a full Road Bike Fit is $160 (~90 minutes), a Pre-Purchase Fit is $60, and a Fit/Cleat Check is $60.
All include a free follow-up session — something most Sydney fitters charge extra for. Compared to the larger fit studios and physio-based fitters on this side of the bridge, you get the same thorough process at a better price.
is a professional bike fit worth it for recreational riders?
Yes. You don’t need to be racing to benefit from a proper fit.
If you’re riding more than 3–4 hours a week and experiencing any discomfort — knee pain, lower back ache, numb hands — a fit pays for itself in physio appointments avoided and time on the bike gained.
Plenty of our clients at the Neutral Bay shop are weekend riders who just want to be comfortable on their Saturday group ride
